Should Your Business Rebrand?

Businesses are consistently judged on their visual identity and if yours is a little older or maybe a DIY design then it may be worth freshening it up. A rebrand can help re-establish a business in the marketplace. It can draw in new customers and excite old ones. But most importantly, it can help increase profits. However, a business doesn’t need to rebrand annually, it doesn’t even need to do it every few years but there are several clear signs that you should begin thinking about your businesses branding.

Reignite the brand

Have you been using the same colours, designs and logos for the last few years? It is exceptionally easy to be concerned and a bit depressed about putting an outdated image of your business into the marketplace. If you are doing this, then you need to reignite the brand and show the market you are a trailblazer. A rebrand with an energising new identity is the perfect way to do this.

Changing the company

Not all companies do what they originally set out to do – take Nokia for example, the mobile phone producer originally made paper. This kind of change is unpredictable and whilst not all businesses will veer so far off course, they will all develop to some extent. If your business has expanded and has a new focus, then a new brand identity will really help to reflect this.

New customers

Sometimes business can be slow and a dated brand identity could hold back progress – especially if more dynamic competitors are scooping up customers and contributing to the downtime. In order to grow and become more profitable, a new brand may just be the thing to lure clients in and claw back some ground from competitors.

Mergers and acquisitions

Following a company merger or acquisition a new identity can help establish a fresh start and a new focus. It also represents a break from the past for both companies which can really help your staff adjust to the new bigger and hopefully better company you have created.

Competition

Markets are becoming more crowded with each passing day, a clever rebrand could help you stand out more. Compare your branding to other companies because this will tell you if your business is making enough of an impact, if not then it is clearly time for a rebrand.
